Teenage Pregnancy

Becoming a parent should be a decision one takes when one is ready to shoulder such a responsibility, whether alone or with others. This ensures that you are able to give a child the love and care that it needs. Using protection and practicing safer sex ensures that you are in control of your choices and the consequences that becoming a parent might have on your future.

Should you become pregnant there are a number of services that can support you whether you chose to keep the child or give it up for adoption.

Servizz Għożża is a service for young parents and their families. This service offers support to teenage parents, focussing on self-development, health issues, education on pregnancy, relationship issues, social issues as well as information on the various professionals that can help during pregnancy. Family therapy and counselling are offered, as well as continued educational support so that the parents may pursue their studies. Expectant parents can be referred to Għożża.
